Please note: This is applicable only if you use normal Gmail (address @gmail.com) - you should not have this problem if you are using Google Apps for Domain.
Due to the way we route the event reminders from our Google Calender to the Yahoo Group, Gmail users often find the reminder ending up in their Spam folder, with a nicely worded caution that the mail may be a phishing attack ("Warning: This message may not be from whom it claims to be. Beware of following any links in it or of providing the sender with any personal information.")
To make sure your reminders stay in your Inbox, please do the following (problem discovered and steps verified courtesy Chadbourne parent Piyush Shah):
Find a reminder sent to the Chadbourne Yahoo Group in your Spam folder. Open the mail.
You will see bunch of buttons/pull down menus above the subject line as shown in the screenshot below (click the screenshot if it is not clear).
Click on "More Actions" - the right most pull down menu, and select "Filter messages like this"
You will see a window with bunch of boxes - the right side looks like this:
Leave everything as it is. The "Has the words" should read
list:(<chadbourne.yahoogroups.com>)
Click on the "Next Step" button
You will see bunch of options. Check the box next to "Never send it to Spam", which is the last checkbox. Please see the screenshot below.
This may not remove the phishing warning, but will keep the message in the Inbox.
