Classroom Opportunities

Please use our Volunteering tool Konstella to find out what needs your children's teachers have for their classroom. All classrooms need a Room Parent - if you have time to help your teacher with important communication with the other parents in the class, please let your teacher know! Room parent duties can be split amongst several parents to make tasks more manageable.

Below is a list of some classroom-specific help your teacher may need.

Room Parents!

The whole classroom benefits from an involved room parent – several room parents are even better! Room parents help the teacher organize communications between the classroom and home, contacting parents to let them know about important classroom events and organize class parties. It’s best when multiple parents share the duties, and this is a great way to get to know your child’s class.

At least 1 per classroom

September-June

FAME Volunteer

FAME is Chadbourne’s “Fine Arts Mini-Experience” where parents learn about art and teach it to the classroom. Training and and teaching materials are provided. You can find more detail here.

Valet/Yard Duty

Without parents volunteering for the morning and afternoon Valet Duty (drop off and pick up) and Yard Duty (supervising the playground), our teachers have to spend time supervising the students before and after school, and have less time getting their classrooms ready for the day.

Field Day

This is a big day of fun at the end of the school year, with activities outside on the playground. Students cycle through various games that parents organize (all supplies and games are provided).

CFFA Liaison

Each classroom is welcome to send a parent representative to the monthly CFFA board meeting. Learn about upcoming activities, represent your classroom, and let your fellow parents know about CFFA activities.
